Realizing Your Need And Quenching Your Thirst

A thought entered my mind as I was meditating this morning. All living things, from the smallest bacteria to the largest creature on earth, need water. Without water, nothing would exist, including plants, animals, and us human beings would not be able to live. Water, regardless of how little or how much, saltwater or freshwater, steaming hot or freezing cold, is the only source that quenches a thirst in order to survive and live.

Realizing our ultimate needs is very important. Water definitely is a necessity. The question rises, though, about what our souls need in order to survive. Why are there times when you feel so down and alone from the inside out? Tears roll down your face when you think of the challenging situations that occur in life’s way. There is a mourning and a moaning, creating pockets of fear and isolation that makes people wonder if there is a God.

The unbelieving and those who work against you as enemies will taunt you with reproach. They go the farthest length with the gall to ask “where is your God?” The pressure made be so extreme that it feels like a sword crushing your bones.

You ask questions like “Have I been forgotten? Why am I oppressed and distressed? Who can I turn to for help? How can I rise above the fray, moving on to a better day?

There is a need that must be fulfilled, just like water to survive. The basics of two parts hydrogen with one part oxygen cannot solve the equation of your situation. Only God is able to take care of all your needs.

“AS THE hart (adult male deer) pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God. My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God…Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, my Help and my God…therefore will I [earnestly] remember You…Yet the Lord will command His loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me, a prayer to the God of my life…Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my countenance, and my God.”

There is hope in God. This sort of hope is well accounted for, to supply your every need. Pray to the Lord, letting Him know your need Him. In the name of His son Jesus, express to God in songs and l6iving, righteous words your thirst for His presence in your life.

When this happens, the burden chains shall fall off you. Situations should roll away like water from a duck’s back. The true Living Water gives you a life of abundance, freedom and eternity. You have all of this (God the Father; Jesus His Son and our Savior; and the guiding gift of the Holy Spirit) due to realizing your need and quenching your thirst.

While you have the opportunity, listen to this song, “Psalm 42.” It will give you refreshed uplifting today and forever.

Be positive and be blessed.
