Extreme Pain. Extreme Relief.

Have you ever been pricked? More than that, have you experienced a thorn that tore into your flesh? Did the sharp rigid structure cut into the flesh, exposing blood and the possibility of leaving either a scar or puncture wound?

A big “Ouch!” protrudes from your voice and into the atmosphere as you feel the suffering and discomfort of a foreign object piercing your body, mind, heart and soul. This itty bitty figure can take a swift run off a trial; a delicious taste out of one’s mouth; and disrupt a peaceful plan. Although more than a million times smaller than you, a thorn enters life and its anguish must be removed.

And it shall be removed.

This is where awesome testimony comes into play. I’ve read where Paul, in a divine letter of God’s penmanship, wrote:

“So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

The thorn may be extremely painful. God, in His heavenly Daddy attitude, gives extreme relief from the distress. The remedy is a dose of His prefect power and the healing of His sufficient grace.

Be positive and be blessed.
